Live Like Cash Gaudio Foundation Awards 5 Scholarships and Surpasses $100K Raised in First Year.
May was a powerful and emotional month for the Live Like Cash Gaudio Foundation. As we near the one-year mark since the tragic loss of Cash, his legacy is already making an extraordinary impact.

The 1st Annual “Swing For Cash” Golf Classic held on May 20th—just one day before what would have been Cash’s 20th birthday—was a resounding success. With 28 full teams, 30+ volunteers, and 50+ generous sponsors, the sold-out event at London Downs Golf Club brought together an entire community committed to honoring Cash’s life.

The weather could not have been more perfect—sunny and in the 70s—as Cash’s friends gathered at each hole, greeting golfers, media, and guests. At 1:10 p.m., on the steps of the clubhouse, the Foundation presented its first full scholarship to Max Spain, covering 100% tuition at Liberty Christian Academy for the 2025–2026 academic year. The $8,630 award was made possible by the outstanding support of our corporate sponsors, including Forest Audiology, M4K Lynchburg, Delta Star, Moore’s Electrical, Bailey Grey Interiors, and more than 50 others, along with over 400 individuals who contributed over the past nine months.

A week later, on May 30th, Cash’s parents, Micah Gaudio and Shannon Meyers, attended SMLCA’s graduation ceremony, where they awarded four additional Live Like Cash Gaudio Scholarships to:
Peyton Conley
Evie Belcher
Maverick Quist
Adelyn Cassady
Each recipient received a $1,500 award in honor of Cash’s enduring spirit.
“You are now part of Cash’s living legacy,” said Shannon during the ceremony. “This foundation will be about far more than financial assistance—it will outlive all of us. Through this scholarship, you’ve become part of a special family, built from Cash’s bravery and the indelible impact he left on every person he met.”
Micah added:
“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support. We ask that these students continue to pursue excellence and honor God in everything they do, just as Cash did. That commitment can be summed up in one phrase—Live Like Cash Gaudio.”

In a meaningful twist, the winning team at the Golf Classic included Ethan Cook and Luke Burrows, Cash’s former varsity basketball teammates at SMLCA. Ethan also helped lead SMLCA to a state golf championship just weeks earlier. Rounding out the team were Noah Conley and Will Boyer, both friends of Cash during his years at the academy.

The Foundation has now raised over $100,000 since its inception in October 2024, and this is only the beginning.
🙏 Please continue to pray for beautiful days ahead, for the lives this Foundation will touch, and for the success of future events that carry forward the mission to Live Like Cash.
